Pope Benedict Fatima

Communiqué: on various articles regarding the “Third Secret of Fatima

Several articles have appeared recently, including declarations attributed to Professor Ingo Dollinger according to which Cardinal Ratzinger, after the publication of the Third Secret of Fatima (which took place in June 2000), had confided to him that the publication was not complete.
In this regard, Pope emeritus Benedict XVI declares “never to have spoken with Professor Dollinger about Fatima”, clearly affirming that the remarks attributed to Professor Dollinger on the matter “are pure inventions, absolutely untrue”, and he confirms decisively that “the publication of the Third Secret of Fatima is complete”.

The prophetic mission of Fatima is not complete

Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, I too have come as a pilgrim to Fatima, to this “home” from which Mary chose to speak to us in modern times. I have come to Fatima to rejoice in Mary’s presence and maternal protection. I have come to Fatima, because today the pilgrim Church, willed by her Son as the instrument of evangelization and the sacrament of salvation, converges upon this place. I have come to Fatima to pray, in union with Mary and so many pilgrims, for our human family, afflicted as it is by various ills and sufferings. Finally, I have come to Fatima with the same sentiments as those of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta, and the Servant of God Lúcia, in order to entrust to Our Lady the intimate confession that “I love” Jesus, that the Church and priests “love” him and desire to keep their gaze fixed upon him as this Year for Priests comes to its end, and in order to entrust to Mary’s maternal protection priests, consecrated men and women, missionaries and all those who by their good works make the House of God a place of welcome and charitable outreach.

These are the “people whom the Lord has blessed”. The people whom the Lord has blessed are you, the beloved Diocese of Leiria-Fatima, with your pastor, Bishop Antonio Marto. I thank him for his words of greeting at the beginning of Mass, and for the gracious hospitality shown particularly by his collaborators at this Shrine. I greet the President of the Republic and the other authorities who serve this glorious Nation. I spiritually embrace all the Dioceses of Portugal, represented here by their Bishops, and I entrust to Heaven all the nations and peoples of the earth. In God I embrace all their sons and daughters, particularly the afflicted or outcast, with the desire of bringing them that great hope which burns in my own heart, and which here, in Fatima, can be palpably felt. May our great hope sink roots in the lives of each of you, dear pilgrims, and of all those who join us through the communications media.

Yes! The Lord, our great hope, is with us. In his merciful love, he offers a future to his people: a future of communion with himself. After experiencing the mercy and consolation of God who did not forsake them along their wearisome return from the Babylonian Exile, the people of God cried out: “I greatly rejoice in the Lord, my whole being exults in my God” (Is 61:10). The resplendent daughter of this people is the Virgin Mary of Nazareth who, clothed with grace and sweetly marvelling at God’s presence in her womb, made this joy and hope her own in the canticle of the Magnificat: “My spirit rejoices in God my Saviour”. She did not view herself as a fortunate individual in the midst of a barren people, but prophecied for them the sweet joys of a wondrous maternity of God, for “his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation” (Lk 1:47, 50).

This holy place is the proof of it. In seven years you will return here to celebrate the centenary of the first visit made by the Lady “come from heaven”, the Teacher who introduced the little seers to a deep knowledge of the Love of the Blessed Trinity and led them to savour God himself as the most beautiful reality of human existence. This experience of grace made them fall in love with God in Jesus, so much so that Jacinta could cry out: “How much I delight in telling Jesus that I love him! When I tell him this often, I feel as if I have a fire in my breast, yet it does not burn me”. And Francisco could say: “What I liked most of all was seeing Our Lord in that light which Our Mother put into our hearts. I love God so much!” (Memoirs of Sister Lúcia, I, 42 and 126).

Brothers and sisters, in listening to these innocent and profound mystical confidences of the shepherd children, one might look at them with a touch of envy for what they were able to see, or with the disappointed resignation of someone who was not so fortunate, yet still demands to see. To such persons, the Pope says, as does Jesus: “Is not this the reason you are wrong, that you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God?” (Mk 12:24). The Scriptures invite us to believe: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe” (Jn 20:29), but God, who is more deeply present to me than I am to myself (cf. Saint Augustine, Confessions, III, 6, 11) – has the power to come to us, particularly through our inner senses, so that the soul can receive the gentle touch of a reality which is beyond the senses and which enables us to reach what is not accessible or visible to the senses. For this to happen, we must cultivate an interior watchfulness of the heart which, for most of the time, we do not possess on account of the powerful pressure exerted by outside realities and the images and concerns which fill our soul (cf. Theological Commentary on The Message of Fatima, 2000). Yes! God can come to us, and show himself to the eyes of our heart.

Moreover, that Light deep within the shepherd children, which comes from the future of God, is the same Light which was manifested in the fullness of time and came for us all: the Son of God made man. He has the power to inflame the coldest and saddest of hearts, as we see in the case of the disciples on the way to Emmaus (cf. Lk 24:32). Henceforth our hope has a real foundation, it is based on an event which belongs to history and at the same time transcends history: Jesus of Nazareth. The enthusiasm roused by his wisdom and his saving power among the people of that time was such that a woman in the midst of the crowd – as we heard in the Gospel – cried out: “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that nursed you!”. And Jesus said: “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!” (Lk 11:27-28). But who finds time to hear God’s word and to let themselves be attracted by his love? Who keeps watch, in the night of doubt and uncertainty, with a heart vigilant in prayer? Who awaits the dawn of the new day, fanning the flame of faith? Faith in God opens before us the horizon of a sure hope, one which does not disappoint; it indicates a solid foundation on which to base one’s life without fear; it demands a faith-filled surrender into the hands of the Love which sustains the world.
“Their descendants shall be known among the nations, […] they are a people whom the Lord has blessed” (Is 61:9) with an unshakable hope which bears fruit in a love which sacrifices for others, yet does not sacrifice others. Rather, as we heard in the second reading, this love “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Cor 13:7). An example and encouragement is to be found in the shepherd children, who offered their whole lives to God and shared them fully with others for love of God. Our Lady helped them to open their hearts to universal love. Blessed Jacinta, in particular, proved tireless in sharing with the needy and in making sacrifices for the conversion of sinners. Only with this fraternal and generous love will we succeed in building the civilization of love and peace.

We would be mistaken to think that Fatima’s prophetic mission is complete. Here there takes on new life the plan of God which asks humanity from the beginning: “Where is your brother Abel […] Your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground!” (Gen 4:9). Mankind has succeeded in unleashing a cycle of death and terror, but failed in bringing it to an end… In sacred Scripture we often find that God seeks righteous men and women in order to save the city of man and he does the same here, in Fatima, when Our Lady asks: “Do you want to offer yourselves to God, to endure all the sufferings which he will send you, in an act of reparation for the sins by which he is offended and of supplication for the conversion of sinners?” (Memoirs of Sister Lúcia, I, 162).

At a time when the human family was ready to sacrifice all that was most sacred on the altar of the petty and selfish interests of nations, races, ideologies, groups and individuals, our Blessed Mother came from heaven, offering to implant in the hearts of all those who trust in her the Love of God burning in her own heart. At that time it was only to three children, yet the example of their lives spread and multiplied, especially as a result of the travels of the Pilgrim Virgin, in countless groups throughout the world dedicated to the cause of fraternal solidarity. May the seven years which separate us from the centenary of the apparitions hasten the fulfilment of the prophecy of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to the glory of the Most Holy Trinity.
Benedict XVI

My Comment : In my opinion, It’s time that the Bear wakes up as the next winter will arrive soon.

 UPDATE :

THREE-PART COMMENTARY on another “mysterious” COMMUNIQUE on THE THIRD SECRET OF FATIMA:

1.) Perhaps we should do a bit of research to discover how many times “the Vatican” has approached Bishop Emeritus Benedict XVI for a clarification on *anything* since his abdication of the papal throne. If memory serves, the “Third Secret of Fatima” is the very first such occasion.

However, today’s brief “memo” from the Vatican’s “Bulletin” reminds us of a similarly mysterious announcement, made decades ago, about the Third Secret. On February 8, 1960 (coincidentally or not, the date then commemorated the Feast of the Most Pure Heart of Mary), the Portuguese news agency, A.N.I. at Rome, released a communiqué from anonymous Vatican sources who declared “the Secret of Fatima will never be disclosed” and “that it is most likely that the LETTER will never be opened, in which Sister Lucia wrote down the WORDS which Our Lady confided as a secret to the three little shepherds in the Cova da Iria.”

The February 1960 announcement verified that the Third Secret is not only a Vision but also includes a Message (“the WORDS which Our Lady confided”). It is also indicative of an internal Church struggle, already existing, since no Vatican source publicly assumed authority for the statement or ever denied it. Still, the Vatican silently confirmed A.N.I.’s announcement because the Third Secret was not released in 1960.

In a similar way, today’s “Bulletin” does not include the name(s) of those who made inquiries to Benedict XVI, on whose authority this announcement was made, etc.

2.) Upon a closer reading, one realizes that today’s very brief Vatican announcement does *not* include even one *entire* quote from Benedict XVI—but the two *partial* quotes featured are clearly meant to accuse Prof. Dollinger and his interviewer of lying. Why didn’t this release include the exact questions asked of Benedict XVI and his complete response?

3.) One thing is certain: The Vatican indeed knows what’s “going on” in the public media, especially when it pertains to any controversy—-and especially regarding Fatima.

  1. Pete, Putin is a good man. He is a Christian. The enemy and the modern center of communism is in Washington DC. This is where the persecution during the Tribulation will originate.

  2. Emmet and Joe, a lively debate. if I am reading your comments correctly, it is generally agreed that “when things are at their worst” and “communism returns” as stated by the Seers, then the Warning will take place. Thereafter to be followed by the Mirical and if we don’t convert, the Chastisment. As you both state in your discussion and I also in earlier comments; communism will rise through various routes, ‘subversively’ in the realms of politics, the Church and society through the guise of a widely accepted and acclaimed post modern liberalism and ‘overtly’ through the violence of occupation by communist forces. Now given Mr Putin’s track record to date, his personal KGB/Communist history and international posturing it is reasonable to suspect his ambition for a greater Russia includes a re-occupation of the Balkans and a push deeper into western NATO countries perhaps as far as Italy and Spain etc. Of course there is also the danger of communist North Korea, who knows what that despot leader is capable of, Cuba which shows no intention of turning away from communist ideals and there is an old prohesy of “fear Mother China,” for which I can’t recall the source. As you say Emmet I am sure there is a grass routes vibrancy of faith in Russia, a situation that will undoubtedly be instrumental to its mass conversion once the communist elite fall from power. Before then however it still contains a fury I think is yet to be released upon the world. If mankind does not make haste, turn from its course and convert, then we know that the “cup that was filling up and now flowing over” will fall and spill its contents upon all of us. “.(We) should turn the Wrath of God away from (ourselves,”). I wish I was wrong, but I am sure the Holy Wrath of God involves more than our having to suffer political correctness and looks increasingly likely to commence in our lifetime.

    Regards
    Pete

  3. Mr Crozier, there seems to be some anger in your response. I may have misinterpreted your post. If so, I apologize. However, very many Catholics (usually self-identified conservatives) still insist that Russia is the enemy, this in spite of the fact that it has been demonstrated repeatedly that almost all the anti-Russian rhetoric and propaganda filling mainstream Western media comes from a group of extreme liberal-left activists, usually with connections to the LGBT movement. For Catholics to be taken in by this rubbish is a bit worrying, and depressing. Russia as a threat was mentioned on one occasion by one of the Garabandal seers, Mari Loli, when she said that “Russia would suddenly and unexpectedly overrun most of Europe,” at the beginning of the Tribulation. However, it is clear from the context that here “Russia” is simply a synonym for “Communism”. When Mari Loli made this statement Russia was synonymous with Communism. Another statement, this time from Conchita, makes this perfectly clear, when she says that the Tribulation would begin shortly after the Pope makes a (obviously friendly) visit to Moscow. All the evidence indicates that the communists who persecute the Church in Spain and elsewhere during the Tribulation will be home-grown western communists.

    • I would submit that Mari Loli said ‘Russia’ instead of the Soviet Union. Wasn’t it the Soviet Union in the 1960’s during the time of the Garabandal apparitions? She said ‘Russia’ because now it is called ‘Russia’ and the threat is still very real.

      • I agree.
In a 1965 locution with Our Blessed Lord it was confirmed to Conchita that
the purpose of the Great Miracle was the conversion of the world; including Russia.
Clearly, this rules out any suggestion of a valid consecration / conversion before then.
        Pax.

  4. I wish Catholics would get over this idea that Russia is still Communist. Let me clue you in: Communism fell in Russia in 1991. Russia now opens on average three new churches every day. The European Union probably closes about three and opens about three mosques. Russia is the last European or European-derived country where Christianity informs lawmaking and social policy. Putin has banned Gay Parades, advertising abortion, internet porn, and is seeking to ban abortion entirely. Compare that with Obama’s United States, where you can be find 133,000 dollars for refusing to bake a lesbian “wedding” cake. Joe Crozier, Russia is no longer the enemy! The Communist (not Russian) scourge predicted at Garabandal clearly refers to homegrown western communists. Open your eyes. The European Union and the United States are communist in everything but name. They are the New World Order. They were the ones who armed ISIS in Syria to begin the extermination of Syria’s Christians. Only Russia showed any concern for the Christians of the region. And by the way, all this was predicted by Padre Pio who, on two occasions, spoke of Russia’s conversion, and how it would come BEFORE America’s.

  5. Laudetur Jesus Christus!Aviso, do you think we could still attend Novus Ordo Mass with things such as they are? With priests that are keeping mum, no resistence at all and with that twisted notion of mercy, downright heresies etc.If someone equates Jesus´s sending apostles with the Muslims´mission of spreading the faith with the sword…then I´m speechless.I wanna be a fervent partisan of the Catholic Church not the New World Order Church! I hope I don´t take things too fundamentally?

    • Hi Frank, due to the last public revelation about the Fatima 3rd Secret, if where you live, you have only 2 Churches, the first one with the Novus Ordo Mass and the other one with the Tridentine Mass, goes to the Tridentine Mass without hesitation, now if you have in your region 1 church with the Novus Ordo Mass only then still goes to the Mass.

  6. Thanks for this Article Joe, I know this website onepeter5, let me congratulate them again but next time, even if they added the original source of this story from Father Kramer, they should also add : Father Kramer via the Fatima Center as it was the case, as I indicated on this blog several times, Father Kramer to whom I have a great Respect and a long friend of my mentor Father Gruner is a welcome friend at Garabandalnews.org, this precipitate answer from the Vatican Press office in the name of the Pope Emeritus seems to be a fake or a lie and I am quite worry about the freedom of the Pope Emeritus, this explain the bear story comment and my own article, in other words, they fell into the trap as I thought and to me this is a green light for the Garabandal cause, we are probably close like never before.

  7. Good Comment Joe, we will probably meet the Garabandal Bear before the Great Miracle, let’s be ready as we never know, the Bear is also known to be ruthless especially the Bear from Akita.
